In this blog post, am going to show you how to enable JavaScript in the most popularly used top 5 web browsers.
Without any doubt, Firefox is one of the popular open source browsers that was developed by the Mozilla Foundation. It uses the "gecko" layout engine to display web-pages.
For you to enable javascript in Firefox, follow the steps outlined below;
i. While Firefox is been opened, click on New Tab icon. At the address bar of the new tab that opens, type "about:config" and hit enter key from the keyboard as depicted below
ii. Firefox ensures that you understand whatever action you intend to take. So definitely after hitting the enter button, a web page with a warning will open.
Now click on the " Accept the Risk and Continue" button, as depicted below:
iii. Once you Accept the Risk and Continue, a web page with alot of preferences will show. Now type the "JavaScript" in the Search box(Search Preference name) that appears and carefully look for the "JavaScript.enabled" option among the several options that appear, as shown below
iv. To enable the JavaScript, you can either double click on the "javascript:enabled" row or click on the button given on the right side of the "javascript.enabled" option, which is highlighted in the above image and after that" false" will change into "true" as shown in the below image.
v. Voila! You have enabled javascript in your Firefox broswer.
Chrome is a free web browser developed by Google.
To enable Javascript in Chrome, follow the steps outlined below
i. While Chrome is opened, click on the three dots sign located at the right-top in the chrome browser, as depicted with the below image.
ii. Now look for the "Settings" option and click on it as shown below:
iii. When the Setting window of the chrome browser gets open, click on the "Advanced" option located at the left side of the setting tab, as depicted below.
iv. Now click on the "Privacy and Security" option.
v. Now click on the "Site Settings" option.
vi. Now search for the "JavaScript" from the following options as screenshot below:
vii. Now click on the "JavaScript" option and then click on the toggle button given in the right side of the "Blocked" option, as shown in the image below.
viii. After clicking the toggle button, the "Allowed (recommended)" options will appear in the place of "Blocked," which confirms that JavaScript is enabled successfully in the browser as shown below:
You have successfully enable Javascript in your chrome browser.
Now let us do the same in Safari broswer
The Safari browser was first released by Apple company in 2003 for the "Mac" operating system.
It is a graphical web-browser based on the WebKit engine.
The steps to enable the JavaScript in the Safari Web Browser are as follows:
i. While the Safari broswer is opened, click on "Setting" option, located at the right side of the browser. See image below
ii. On the Setting window, search for the "preferences" option among the given options, as shown in the below image.
iii. Click on the Preferences option and a control panel will open, as depicted below.
iv. Click on "Security" option, and click on the "Enable JavaScript" option, as shown on the below image
Now, you have successfully enabled javascript in your Safari broswer. Enjoy its fullest
Opera web browser was developed at the Telenor company in the year 1994. Telenor company was one of Norway's largest telecommunications companies. Opera established its own company as "Opera Software ASA" in late 1995. It was first released to the public in 1996 with version 2.0, and this version of Opera could run only on Microsoft Windows.
Follow the instructions below to enable Javascript on Opera broswer
i. While on the Opera Browser, click on "Setting" option as shown on the image below
ii. On the "Setting" window, click on "Advanced" option and another window will appear as shown below
iii. On the "Advance" option window, click on the "Privacy and Security" option, which is located below the "Advanced" option, see the following image.
iv. Now click on "Site Setting" option which is the highlighted button as depicted below
v. Now look for the "JavaScript" option in the "Site Settings" by scrolling down.
vi. Click on the "JavaScript" option, then open the toggle button given in the right side of the "Allowed (recommended)" option, as shown in the below image.
vi. Now, "Allowed" option will appear in the place of "Blocked" to which confirm that JavaScript has been enabled successfully. See image below

Internet explorer was developed by the Microsoft corporation.
It is among broswers that can be used to listen and watch streaming content, pay online, and more.
Like every other broswer, Internet explorer also has Javascript feature. To Enable Javascript in internet explorer follow the instructions outlined below
i. While on the Internet Explorer window, click on the "Setting" option at the right top of the broswer as shown in the picture below
ii. After clicking on the Setting option, a menu will display, now locate and click on "Internet" option from the displayed options as shown below
iii. Now click on the "Internet Options," and a setting panel will open as shown below. Once the panel gets opened, click on the "Security" option.
iv. Click on "Custom level" box as highlighted in the above image. After clicking on the "custom level" box, another panel of "Security Setting" will open.
v. Now locate "Scripting" option by scrolling down the given options as shown below
vi. Now click on the "enable" option given below the "Active Scripting" to enable JavaScript and click on "Ok" as shown below
