Barcelona are set to appoint Netherland coach Ronald Koeman as new manger following the sacking of Quique Setien.
The La Liga Side parted ways with their former manager following an embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the UEFA champions league.
The Camp Nou side are seemingly set on a major overhaul of the club as Sporting Director Eric Abidal was also relieved of his duties.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu had now revealed that their ex-player will take the position following days of speculation in the media.
"Koeman is the one we've chosen. If nothing goes wrong he will be the head coach next season."
The president also cleared the air on the future of star forward Lionel Messi Who is rumored to want an exit.
"Messi wants to end his career at Barca, he has said that many times.
"I have spoken with Koeman and the pillar of our project is Messi.
"He has a contract until 2021, I speak a lot with Leo and more regularly with his father.
"He is number one in the world. There is no doubt that in Koeman's new project you can count on Messi."
The president also hinted that the entire playing squad will now face a clear out.
