Italian Champions Juventus Were Knocked out of The UEFA Champions league despite a 2-0 over French side Lyon.
Juventus trailed a the beginning of the match having lost 1-0 to Lyon in France. Their chances of overturning the deficit was thrown into doubt after a really dreadful start. Juventus conceded a penalty in just the 12th minute of the match and ex - Manchester United man Memphis depay made no mistake from the spot - sending the goalkeeper the wrong way with a panenka style penalty. All hope seemed to be lost for Juventus until the referee awarded them a penalty of their own after the ball came of the arm of goalscorer Memphis Delay from a Pjanic free kick. Ronaldo duly buried the the penalty and almost single handed staged a comeback. He collected a pass from the left wing, turned and hit a stunning effort into the back of the net from 25 yards out. From then on, it was all Juventus as they did every thing they can to get the goal that would send them to the last eight of the competition but Lyon's defensive wall stood firm. Juventus were eventually knocked out on the away goal rule after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline. This is the first time since 2019/10 that Lyon make to to the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions league. For Ronaldo, his two goals make it 130 goals for the Portuguese in the UEFA Champions league - more than any other player.
