EFFECT OF MELON SHELL ASH ON THE PROPERTIES OF HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETE
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
From the result obtained, the control concrete has a value of 27.29N/m2 strength which shows a highest value. Result from 5% and 15% test with addition of melon shell shows that a reasonable strength of 20.93N/m2 and 23.57N/m2 was obtained which shoes that melon shell when added to concrete could provide a reasonable strength and at the same time provide the benefit of overcoming the demerit of volume changed and crack in high strength concrete. Slump test carried out shows a true slump for 5%, 10% and 15% when melon shell was added to concrete, this also shows the effectiveness of melon shell as a pozollanic material in concrete. Bill of engineering measurement and evaluation for the research work stands at N19,300
