ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION


This study focused on the effect of human capital planning on organizational performance, a case study of Beta Glass plc, Ughelli. The purpose of this study is not centered on how proper human capital planning in manufacturing organization toward specifically determining how proper human capital planning can help in training, selection, placement and motivating the employees of an organization, and how poor human capital planning will lead to wastage and breakdown of machine and equipment. The survey research design was used for the study and the sample size of 80 including both male and female staff of Beta Glass. The questionnaire was the main instrument used in collecting data for the study. The simple percentage and chi – square was used in analyzing the data collected. Among the findings was that human capital planning have a great effect on organizational performance because it helps in proper selection, placement, training and motivation of employees. It is important to recall that this study was centered on the effect of human capital planning on organizational performance. It can be concluded that human capital planning is an effective tool used by firms to achieve their overall corporate objectives and maximization of profit. It was recommended that companies should improve their training programmes regularly so as to increase efficiency and specialization of employees.
