Contamination of lipstick preparation with heavy metals occurs in the process of production, or as a result of inadequate purification of natural raw materials used as ingredients. Despite numerous controls in the manufacturing process, production in accordance with good manufacturing practice (GMP) and campaigns for the safe use of lipstick products, heavy metals are still present even in the best quality products. The heavy metals were determined from both used and unused samples. Several parameters have been taken into account and evaluated for the validation of the analytical methods for quantitative determination of heavy metals in lipsticks cosmetics, namely, range and linearity, the minimum detection limit, the minimum limit of quantification, accuracy, and precision. It is recommended that health screening should be carried out periodically on the lipstciks and inhabitants to check for some symptoms of heavy metals inhabitations.
