Introduction

In this article I'm going to discuss with you the the drawback of the national policy of education in Nigeria. The national policy of education in Nigeria comprises of basic education  consisting of six years of elementary, three years of junior secondary education and three years of senior secondary education. The importance of national policy on education in Nigeria is that it provides the direction for educational activities. And also provide answers to questions like: What are the problems of education in Nigeria? What is Nigeria National Policy on Education?Why do educational policies fail? What are the major problem in the implementation of the 1976 Universal Primary Education?
What are the Drawback of the National Policy of Education in Nigeria

Poor management is a major thing that can can cause the draw back of national policy of education in Nigeria. The educational sector itself suffers from poor management mostly in the rural areas of the country where the education given to student is very low. if the management of the school sector are ready to improve education, then there comes in the funding
 
The most prominent problem facing the educational sector Is that of funding. Without proper funding and capital it is impossible to even think of changes in the society. The management teams of the schools are made up of people and If these people are not ready in improving education, then no amount of money can help them
Lack of infrastructure facilities mostly occur in Nigerians schools because there are no money to change them which make student to study in crack and old buildings
Unqualified teachers in educational sectors. It is really  difficult to find educated and dedicated teachers who are willing to work in Nigeria because the profession will not give  them the money they deserve, which make educated teacher end up engaging in other things or businesses leaving the teaching work for those who are not qualified 
Corruption is one major problems which can stop the implementation of national policy on education in Nigeria. The money provided for the growth of education can be stolen or eaten by the management or authorities in charge
The instability of government is another problem than can hinder the implementation of national policy on education in Nigeria. Most  Nigerian government has never put the effort to increase the educational sector and even sometimes the next government might even dismissed any project started

Brief History of Kwara State in Nigeria

Kwara State was created on 27 May 1967, when the Federal Military Government of General Yakubu Gowon broke the four regions that then constituted the Federation of Nigeria into 12 states. At its creation, the state was made up of the former Ilorin and Kabba provinces of the then Northern Region and was initially named the West Central State but later changed to "Kwara", a local name for the River Niger, in the Hausa language. Kwara State has since 1976 reduced considerably in size as a result of further state creation exercises in Nigeria. On 13 February 1976, the Idah/Dekina part of the state was carved out and merged with a part of the then Benue/Plateau State to form Benue State. On 27 August 1991, five Local Government areas, namely Oyi, Yagba, Okene, Okehi and Kogi were also excised to form part of the new Kogi State, while a sixth, Borgu Local Government Area, was merged with Niger State. The major populated local governments are Ilorin and Offa. The primary ethnic group is Yoruba, with significant Fulani, Nupe, and Bariba minorities. Kwara comprises 16 local government areas. Agriculture is the main source of the economy and the principal cash crops are: cotton, cocoa, coffee, Kolanut, tobacco, beniseed and palm produce.
