THE IMPACT OF E-MARKETING IN NIGERIAN INDUSTRY(A CASE OF UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA UBA PLC)

This research work focused on a study of the impact of e-marketing in Nigerian Banking Industry with particular emphasis on United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc. For better understanding, the work was divided into five chapters. Chapter one covers the introduction, history/ company profile of United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA) and evaluation of UBA e-marketing products and services (e-banking services). Other areas covered include the statement of the problem that prompted the study, the research questions which will be used to find solutions to the problems, objective of the study, significance of the study, scope and limitation and the definitions of terms. Related literature to the study was discussed in chapter two under the following headings. Definition of marketing, concept of marketing, evolution of banking in Nigeria, nature of services, marketing of banking services, evolution of e-marketing in Nigeria, application of e-marketing to banking services and definition of e-marketing. Chapter Three reviews the methodology of the study under the following headings: research design, population, sample and sampling techniques, sources and method of data collection, administration of questionnaire and data analysis technique. Chapter four dealt with the presentation and analysis of data. It shows how the questions in the questionnaire are used to find out the answers to the research questions stated in chapter one while chapter five focus in summary, conclusion and recommendations. Some of the recommendation include (1) banks websites should be adequately promoted when created in order to generate awareness and interest (2) websites should contain-in-depth product, services and organisation information and various strategies of its branch network and (3) timely responses to customers inquires and demands via the internet channel.
