THE EFFECT OF BROKEN HOMES ON THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF STUDENTS IN HIGHER INSTITUTION(A CASE STUDY OF DELTA STATE POLYTECHNIC, OZORO)

ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION

This project work was written to investigate the effect of broken homes on the academic performance of students in higher institutions. Besides, it studied if there was any significant difference between the performances of students in broken homes and students from unbroken homes. In carrying out our analysis, the chi-square test of independence was used and Pearson Product Moment Correlation to show if there is a relationship between both homes. It was observed at the end of this work that students from unbroken homes do not perform academically better than students from broken homes
