This study investigated the phytochemial properties of aqueous leaf extract of telfairia occidentalis. Result obtained showed the presene of saponin (++), steroid (++), alkaloid (++), flavonoids (+++), glycosides (+++) while tannin was absent. the presence of these bioactive components especially saponin and alkaloids suggest that the plant has rich medicinal
