EVALUATION OF STAFF PERFORMANCE AS A MEASURE FOR IMPROVING ORGANIZATIONAL EFFICIENCY(A STUDY OF FIRST BANK NIG. PLC WARRI)
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
This research work is carried out to examine the way of evaluating staff performance in an organization. The primary objective of this study is to examine whether evaluating staff performance is a measure for improving organizational efficiency and also to identify the place of staff evaluation as a tool to improve workers performance in an organization. This was done through the use of total number of twelve (12) questions which was raised in the questionnaire. Also the population of the study comprises of one organization First Bank Nig. Plc, Warri. A sample size of fifty (50) respondents was selected using the sampling technique. Data obtained were presented in tables and were analyzed by the use of simple percentage method. Based on the analysis and interpretation of the data, it was discovered that evaluating staff performance is a measure for improving organizational efficiency and also do identify the place of staff evaluation as a tool to improve workers performance in an organization. Finally it was also shown that regular review of evaluation system are rendered to motivate the employee of the organization. In conclusion, this research study found out that it is necessary to have formal evaluation programme with clearly stated objectives and well organized system for attainting items. Based on the above discussion, some one man business alone but as the function of every personnel in the organization. The research work recommended that further research studies be carried out on the effect of staff evaluation on the achievement of organizational goals and also to determine factors that are likely to affects staff evaluation system in an organization.
