ANALYSIS OF CHALLENGES FACED BY SMALL SCALE BUSINESS IN NIGERIA AND THEIR WAY OUT(A CASE STUDY OF GWAKE TABLE WATER OZORO)
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
This study is on the analysis of challenges faced by small scale business. Small scale business is a business which has an annual turnover of not exceeding ?500,000 with the number of employee not more than 50. The objective of the study is to identify the challenges faced by small scale business and to examine how small scale business operate, mange the limited resources at their disposal and to identify the management techniques that are predominantly used in small scale business from time to time using Gwake table water Ozoro as a case study. The population of the study cover all the small scale businesses in Ozoro, Isoko north local government area delta state. While a sample size of 10 respondent were selected using simple random procedure. From Gwake table water. The questionnaire was used for data collection which was validated by the research supervisor before being administered to the respondent. The data collected were analysed using the simple percentage method. The finding of the study reveal that small scale business do not spend all profit generated from the business. And also reveal that effective management of fund can lead to small scale business success, in conclusion it realised that there can be remedy to the challenges that bare faced by different small scale business, despite the fact that the government has been contributing towards the growth of such business and it was recommended that the government should contribute towards the growth of small scale business by providing credit scheme for small scale business operation and there should be effective allocation of fund to the business. And finally the study suggest that a simi8lar study be carried out in other small scale business in the same local government area or in another local government for the purpose of corporative analysis and it was also suggested that further study should be carried out to determine other factors that are behind the challenges or problem of small scale business
