ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION


Coliform bacteria have been used as indicators of the bacteriology quality of groundwater. The presence of coliform is an index of bacteriology of fecal coliform such as Eschericha coli which is of fecal origin. Detection of E.coli indicates recent pollution because the origin cannot survive for long period outside of their natural tract of animals. Therefore, World Health Organization recommended that both treated and untreated water samples should have zero E.coli.
