THE PROBLEM OF FINANCING SMALL-SCALE INDUSTRY IN DELTA STATE

The title of this research work is the problems of financing small scale industries and the purpose of the research is to identify the sources of finance available to small scale businessmen. After thorough review of relevant literature, the questionnaire was carefully administered in the company which were used to collect valid and relevant data and analysis using percentage. From the analysis of the questionnaire, the following were discovered: 1) The financial problems of small scale industries in Delta State are mismanagement and lack of collateral security. 2) The sources of funds open to these industries are borrowing from banks, savings and ploughing back profit. 3) What hinders increase in the small scale industries is lack of finance. 4) The sources of funds available for the small scale industries are inadequate. The researcher recommended that the Delta State Government should provide adequate capital to small scale industrialists to enable them establish new small industries and expand the existing ones.
