THE PLACE OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN IMPROVING NIGERIAN ECONOMY(A STUDY OF FIRST BANK NIGERIA PLC)

This study is written to appraise “the place of financial institutions in improving Nigerian economy”. The aim is to ascertain the relevance of financial institutions support in the growth and improvement of the Nigeria economy and to identify the problems of small scale industries that make them inefficient thereby contributing to the wealthiness of the Nigeria economy and how the problems can be solved through the ledger provided by financial institutions, granting loan at subsidized rate, insurance e.t.c it is necessary to give financial support to small scale industry in respect of their great function they perform in the economy. In the course of carrying out this research, questionnaires were administered on the staff of the various banks and the analysis shows that the relevance of financial institutions cannot be emphasized.
