THE EFFECTS OF CAPITAL STRUCTURE AND FIRM PERFORMANCE IN AN ORGANIZATION(A CASE STUDY OF SMALL SCALE BUSINESS ORGANIZATION)

This study examines the relationship between capital structure and firm performance. This study made use of secondary data obtained from the Nigeria stock exchange. The study found a positive relationship between debt and firm performance. Also growth and tangibility had a positive relationship with the firm performance. While firm age and firm size had a negative relationship with the firm performance. This study recommends the use of leverage should be encouraged and also projects that would encourage growth should be encouraged.
