THE EFFECTS OF ADEQUATE CAPITALIZATION OF COMMERCIAL BANKS ON THE GROWTH OF NIGERIA ECONOMY(A STUDY OF FIRST BANK PLC OZORO BRANCH)

This study examines the effect of adequate capitalization of commercial banks on the growth of Nigeria economy, using First Bank Plc Ozoro Branch as a study. The major objectives of the study is to determine how the increase in order for the bank to meet up with the international standard, in other words, the study was reveal on how to strengthen and consolidate the banking sector in Nigeria. Based on the findings of the study, conclusion and recommendation, it was recommended that CBN and other financial authorities should set a consulting services to banks on recapitalization, also CBN should create more awareness on bank recapitalization for depositors and sound financial operation to bank staff that there should be a proper control to avoid bankrupted i.e. continuous supervision of bank /board of directors in order to meet up with the challenges of bank in the 21st century, also CBN should further implement laws on banking industry which will enable them to keep abreast with the latest technology. These and many others were recommended from the researcher of the study.
