THE CAUSES AND REMEDY FOR SMALL SCALE BUSINESS FAILURE IN DELTA STATE (A STUDY OF SOME SELECTED BUSINESS IN OZORO METROPOLIS DELTA STATE)

It is relevant to note that business is operated to provide goods and services to satisfy customers with a view of making profit for owners. Hence, the life wire of a good business is finance and proper management, to avoid any cause of business failure in order to attain the expected goals of the business. Therefore, this project is primarily centered on the causes and remedies of small scale business failure in Nigeria, while using some selected small scale business in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area, as a case study so as attain concrete and reliable information and data on this research. Some of the findings revealed that the government has not contributed meaningfully towards the growth of the business and that lack of project management of capital and manpower lead to small scale business failure while some preferred recommendations hold that government should make available credit facilities for small scale business, implement strict measures against business failure, financial institution should make loans easy and available for business operators and proper effective management of funds and manpower and records should be adopted by business owners and a host of others. More so, further studies should be done on certain area such as the relationship between staff and customers expands the study within the community and so forth.
