REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF A TWO STOREY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
This project is all about analysis, design and details of a resident building. A modern design philosophy (the limit state approach) was used and quotations were made from BS8110 and other design manual (Reinforce concrete designs handbook by Reynold’s steedman). It is of great importance to know that structural design is highly a creative work that must be carried out responsibility in order to produce safe and durable structures. The hardy cross\classical method of structural analysis was employed in the analysis of the flexible members. This project covers the design and detailing of the different structural elements(slabs, staircases, beams, columns, and footings) that make a structure, where necessary design comments(theories) are cited from the code of practice. This is the general introduction of five chapters. Chapter one deals with the general introduction of work. Chapter two offers the literature review, chapter three provides the design philosophy, design objective and design data, chapter four handles the design analysis and limitation of the study and chapter five talks about the conclusion and recommendations of the work done. References to the authority quoted in this week are also integrated for further research.
