EFFECTS OF STAFF/EMPLOYEES TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT IN BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS(A STUDY OF UNITY BANK PLC OLEH)
ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION
This study examines the effect of staff training and development as it affects productivity. In carrying out the study, three research hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The major instrument used for data collection was twenty item questionnaire structured into two sections to elicit employee response on issues relating to manpower/staff training and development. The findings/research instrument was validated through the project supervisor and other expert in the area of management. The test re-test method was used to determine the validity of instrument. The findings were revealing and outstanding for example, this finding reported that for an employee to benefit from the training programmes of the organization (ICB) Ltd, the employee must have been a confirmed staff and should have had a satisfactory confidential report. In conclusion, this research study have been able to establish a relationship between training and job performance, and on the basis of the above conclusion that training and job performance of employee are mutually interdependent and functionally dynamic.
