DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EXPERT SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS AND DRUGS PRESCRIPTION USING ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK (A CASE STUDY OF TYHOID AND MALARIA FEVER)

ABSTRACT/DESCRIPTION

This research work is focused on the design and implementation of an expert system for medical diagnosis and drugs prescription using artificial neural network (a case study of typhoid and malaria fever) has emerged over the years and has made remarkable contribution to the advancement of the medical field. The purpose of this work is to examine neural networks and their emerging applications in the medical field of focusing more on sickness diagnosis. In this work, we have examined the various architectures of NN and the learning process. The needs for neural networks, training of neural networks, and important algorithms used in realizing neural networks have also been briefly discussed. Neural network application in diagnosis has been extensively discussed. We concluded by identifying limitations, recent advances and promising future research directions. The programming tools used for this system design are ASP.Net, Visual Basic.Net, CSS. These tools were used for the front end design while Microsoft Acesss were used as the system back end. The research methodology chosen for the system design is the Spiral Model.
