##Admission Requirements
For UTME entry: You must have at least five (5) credit passes in your O/Level exams (WAEC, NECO or equivalent) including English Language, in not more than two sittings.
You must register for the UTME via Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and choose UNIUYO as first choice.
After the UTME, you must also partake in UNIUYO’s Post-UTME or screening exercise.
For Direct Entry candidates: In addition to the O/Level requirements, you might possess things like A-Level passes, OND/HND at credit/upper credit level, or relevant NCE etc.
Some competitive courses may require more stringent subject combinations (for example, Medicine, Engineering etc). For example, for B.Eng (Civil Engineering) at UNIUYO: the requirement includes credit passes in Chemistry, English, Mathematics and Physics in not more than two sittings.
##Cut-Off Marks
The general JAMB minimum cut-off mark for most courses is around 150 (or higher) for UNIUYO.
For less competitive courses the figure could be ~140 (in some older listings) but for many departments the actual score needed is quite higher, depending on demand.
Some of the competitive departments require much higher – e.g., for Medicine & Surgery around 250+; Law perhaps 240+; Engineering around 220+; Pharm around 240+.
Example: For the 2025/26 session, an article said UNIUYO “approved a cut-off mark of 140” for eligibility to purchase Post-UTME form, but emphasised many departments require more than that.

##Tuition/School Fees
The fees vary by faculty and year of study. For example (estimates):
Arts & Education: about ?70,000 – ?85,000 for freshers.
Sciences & Engineering: about ?90,000 – ?105,000 for freshers.
Law: about ?110,000 – ?125,000.
Medical Sciences: about ?120,000 – ?140,000.
Returning students (after first year) generally pay less – maybe ?50,000 to ?90,000 depending on faculty/year.
