##Overview of UAES, Umuagwo
The University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), located in Umuagwo, Imo State, Nigeria, is a specialized public university established in 2019 by the Imo State Government. UAES was founded to fill the educational gap in agriculture and environmental studies within the state and across the South-East region. The institution is focused on promoting innovation, sustainability, and productivity in agricultural and environmental disciplines, essential for economic development and food security.

##Establishment and Campus Development
The idea for UAES emerged from the need to expand access to specialized education in agriculture and environmental sciences. Originally, plans were made to establish the university at the old site of Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo. However, due to resistance from stakeholders and host communities, the initial take-off site was moved to Aboh/Okpala. After further considerations and negotiations, the Imo State Government relocated the university back to its current location at Umuagwo, where it began full academic activities.

Acting Vice Chancellor – Prof. Christopher Chiedozie Eze
The current Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Christopher C. Eze, is a distinguished scholar and administrator. He holds degrees in Agricultural Economics (B.Agric., M.Sc., Ph.D.) and Law (L.L.B.). Prof. Eze has served in various academic and governmental positions, including Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Imo State and Dean of the Postgraduate School at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).

An accomplished author, Prof. Eze has published over 100 scholarly articles and multiple books in agribusiness management. Under his leadership, UAES has experienced academic growth, infrastructural expansion, and strategic partnerships.

1. Community Engagement and Sustainability: UAES has implemented innovative community and environmental initiatives. One notable project is the “Green Campus” program, which encourages every student and staff member to plant and nurture at least one fruit-bearing tree.
