Education
Fountain University, Osogbo (FUO), established in 2007 by the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT), is a private Islamic institution located in Osogbo, Osun State, Nigeria. The university's motto, "Knowledge, Faith and Leadership," encapsulates its commitment to providing education grounded in Islamic principles while fostering leadership qualities among its students.
##History and Founding
The inception of Fountain University was driven by NASFAT's vision to create an institution that integrates Islamic values with academic excellence. In 2000, during a strategic retreat in Akodo, Lagos, NASFAT outlined its educational policy, leading to the formation of an 18-member planning committee in January 2004. This committee laid the groundwork for the university, culminating in the Federal Government granting an operational license on May 17, 2007, upon the recommendation of the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Following the license approval, a strategic implementation committee was established to oversee the university's development until the inauguration of the first Governing Council in September 2007, led by Professor N.O. Adedipe. The council played a pivotal role in shaping the university's policies and infrastructure.
