Elizade University, situated in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Nigeria, is a private institution founded in 2013 by Chief Michael Ade Ojo, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist.  The university's motto, "Pragmatic Innovation for Development," encapsulates its commitment to fostering innovation and practical solutions for societal advancement. ##History
Elizade University commenced academic activities in January 2013 with an initial cohort of 64 students enrolled in 13 programmes across two faculties.  Over the years, the university has experienced significant growth, expanding its academic offerings and infrastructure to accommodate a growing student population.  

##Academic Structure
The university comprises five faculties: 

Faculty of Engineering

Faculty of Social and Management Sciences

Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences

Faculty of Law

Faculty of Humanities 


These faculties encompass over 24 departments, offering a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes designed to meet the evolving needs of society.  

##Accreditation and Recognitions
Elizade University has achieved full accreditation for 25 programmes across its faculties from the National Universities Commission (NUC).  Notably, the university's Accounting programme has received full accreditation from both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), making it the second university in Nigeria to attain such a distinction.  

Additionally, the university's Engineering programmes, including Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Information and Communication Technology, have received full accreditation from the NUC and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).  

The Law programme has also been fully accredited by the NUC and the Council of Legal Education.  

##Vice Chancellor
As of 2025, Professor Kayode Thadius Ijadunola serves as the fourth substantive Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University.  Professor Ijadunola is a distinguished academic with over 25 years of experience in public health and community medicine.  Prior to his appointment, he was a Professor at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.  

Professor Ijadunola has been recognized for his contributions to population and reproductive health training in Nigeria and West Africa.  He has received numerous scholarships and research grants from prestigious institutions, including Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University.  

##International Collaborations
Elizade University has established partnerships with several international institutions to enhance its academic offerings and provide global exposure to its students.  A notable collaboration is with ORT Braude College of Engineering in Israel, where students participate in a three-month intensive practical training programme.  

##Technological Advancements
The university has adopted the iLearn platform, enabling students to access lecture notes and other learning materials online, promoting self-directed learning.  This initiative aligns with global best practices in education, fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence.
