##History
Dominion University, Ibadan was granted its operating licence by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 5 February 2019. 

Academic operations officially began in October 2019, located at Km 24 Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, City of Faith, Ibadan, Oyo State. 

The university began with a small cohort of pioneering students; its first matriculation (for the 2019/2020 academic year) had around 92 students (43 males and 49 females) as reported.

Since then the institution has steadily grown. By the end of the 2022/2023 academic session, the student population was recorded at 661, drawn from 22 states of Nigeria (and including some students of Ghanaian and Lebanese origin). 

The initial faculty structure started with two faculties—Arts, Social & Management Sciences; and Computing & Applied Sciences—but by 2024 the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences had been approved and began operations. 

In its first convocation ceremony (October 2023) the university awarded degrees to 96 graduates, and in its second convocation (October 2024) it graduated 148 students. Of those 148, 35 achieved First Class honours. 

Throughout its short history, the institution has emphasised investment in infrastructure, student welfare, security, and accreditation of programmes. For example, the VC reported significant growth in staff development (some lecturers obtaining PhDs) and an expansion in student amenities.
