##Introduction
Covenant University, located in Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria, is a leading private Christian institution renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and leadership development. ##History
Covenant University was inaugurated on October 21, 2002, with an initial enrollment of approximately 1,500 students.  The foundation stone of the permanent site was laid on January 27, 2002, and construction commenced in March of the same year, culminating in the completion of the first phase within eight months  . The university is a product of the Liberation Commission and was established by the World Mission Agency and the Living Faith Church Worldwide  .

Chancellor: 
Dr. David O. Oyedepo, the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, serves as the Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Regents  .

Prof. Bola Ayeni (May 2002 – September 2004): As the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayeni oversaw the university’s foundational phase and laid the groundwork for its academic and administrative structures.

Dr. Jonathan Aremu (2005) (Acting Vice Chancellor): Dr. Aremu served in an acting capacity during a transitional period, ensuring continuity in leadership and academic operations.

Prof. Aize Obayan (February 2005 – October 31, 2012): Prof. Obayan provided transformational leadership and was instrumental in driving the university's academic visibility, research culture, and international recognition.

Prof. Charles Ayo (November 1, 2012 – July 2016): During his tenure, Prof. Ayo focused on ICT integration and infrastructural development, reinforcing Covenant’s vision of becoming a world-class institution.

Prof. AAA Atayero (July 15, 2016 – September 22, 2020): Prof. Atayero promoted research and innovation, enhancing the university’s rankings and driving technology-based education and Smart Campus initiatives.

Prof. Akan Williams (September 22, 2020 – November 10, 2020) (Acting Vice Chancellor): Prof. Williams served as Acting Vice Chancellor for a brief period, maintaining the university’s strategic momentum.

Prof. Abiodun Humphrey Adebayo (November 10, 2020 – November 30, 2024): Prof. Adebayo’s tenure was marked by improved global rankings, expanded research output, and stronger industry-academic partnerships.

Prof. Timothy Anake (December 1, 2024 – Present): Prof. Anake is the current Vice Chancellor. His leadership focuses on sustaining academic excellence, driving innovation, and preparing the university for its next phase of development.
