##Introduction
Babcock University is a distinguished private Christian co-educational institution located in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria.  Owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, it stands as a beacon of academic excellence and moral integrity in the Nigerian educational landscape. ##History
The origins of Babcock University trace back to 1959 when it was established as the Adventist College of West Africa (ACWA) with just seven students.  In 1975, it was renamed the Adventist Seminary of West Africa (ASWA).  The institution achieved university status in 1999, adopting the name Babcock University in honor of David C. Babcock, the American missionary who pioneered the Seventh-day Adventist Church's work in Nigeria in 1914  .
