The process began when Dr. Godwin Nwabunka and his team at Grooming Centre began envisioning a higher education institution that would marry quality teaching with strong ethical foundations and practical relevance. 

In 2019 the formal application process commenced, and in 2020 a Planning and Implementation Committee, led by prominent academics and industry figures (including Prof. Akaneren Idem Essien), was constituted to actualise the vision. 

In June 2023, the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted a licence for its operation as a private university at Amizi in Ikwuano LGA, Abia State.

Following resource verification by the NUC in April 2024, academic activities commenced in September/October 2024. 

The campus-setting is on over 80 hectares of land in Amizi, blending local architecture, natural surroundings and modern facilities to create a serene, purpose-built environment for learning. 

The university officially held its matriculation and opening ceremony on 8 February 2025, formally marking the launch of its academic journey.
