Nteje serves as the administrative center of the Oyi Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria. It is located approximately 25 kilometers (16 miles) northeast of Onitsha via land route. Geographically, Nteje lies at a longitude of 6.45°E and a latitude of 6.14°N, with the land elevation being around 500 feet (150 meters) above sea level.
The town is bordered by Nkwelle-Ezunaka to the west (within Oyi LGA), Awkuzu and Umunya to the south (both in Oyi LGA), Ukwulu to the east (in Dunukofia LGA), and Aguleri, Umuleri, and Nando to the north (within Anambra East LGA).
