Ekwulumili is a town rich in cultural heritage, home to schools, festivals, and various cultural institutions. It is also set to be the site of a National Craft Centre in the future. The origins of Ekwulumili trace back to the merging of nine kindreds: 1. Isingwu 2. Umuifechukwu (formerly Etiti n'Abo) 3. Ihu Nkwo These three kindreds came together to form Isigwu. 4. Urueze 5. Okpe These two merged to become Urueze. 6. Umudim 7. Uhuanugo These two merged to become Umudim. 8. Owelengwu 9. Umugbana These two merged to form Owelengwu. From these mergers, the four towns that make up Ekwulumili were established.
