##Admission Requirements
For UTME (first-time university entrants):

You must have at least five (5) credit passes in your Senior Secondary Certificate (SSCE) or GCE O-level (or equivalent), in no more than two sittings. The credits must include English Language and Mathematics, plus any other subjects required for your chosen course.

You must pick FUTO as your first choice university in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) application.

You must meet the required UTME minimum score (see cut-off section below). Also, you’ll need to satisfy any course-specific subject combinations (for example, sciences or engineering often require Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics etc).

You must be at least 16 years old by the time of admission (in many cases).

For Direct Entry (candidates who already have some advanced qualification):

Applicants may hold A-Level (or equivalent), National Diploma (ND)/Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant fields or NCE where applicable.

They still need the SSCE/GCE credits (including English and Mathematics) as part of the foundational requirement.

##Tuition Fees (and other fees)
The fees vary considerably depending on department, level (freshers vs returning students), and whether you’re foreign or indigenous.

For example, one source shows that for undergraduates the tuition ranges for indigenous students from about ?180,000 up to ?600,000 (depending on department and programme) in recent sessions.

For the 2025/2026 academic session, one breakdown shows for newly admitted students that all courses are listed at around ?61,340 for fresh students and ?45,340 for returning students — but that appears to reflect “school fees” as a statutory minimum rather than full tuition in all cases.

Be aware: Highly specialised or resource intensive programmes (e.g., Medicine, Engineering) may cost significantly more.

Always check the official FUTO website for the exact fee for your department/year because the rates can change.

##Cut-Off Marks
These are the minimum scores or benchmarks you must hit to be eligible and to stand a reasonable chance of admission.

The general UTME minimum score for FUTO in recent sessions has been set at 150 marks (for many programmes) in the UTME.

However, some sources indicate the general minimum is 160 marks (or even higher) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The important thing: Meeting the minimum (say 150 or 160) only qualifies you to apply/enter the Post-UTME screening — it doesn’t guarantee admission. Many departments (especially competitive ones like Engineering, Medicine, Computer Science) demand much higher aggregate scores after Post-UTME.

For example, one past list shows that for 2024/2025:

Electrical/Electronics Engineering: 220 marks

Computer Science: 210 marks

The takeaway: Aim higher than the “minimum” if you’re going into a competitive course.
