##Admission Requirements
You must sit the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME (or Direct Entry where applicable) and have listed FUHSO as your first choice. 

For UTME (100-level) entry: You need at least five (5) credit passes in your O’Level (WAEC, NECO or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. 

For Direct Entry (DE) programmes: Candidates must have relevant A-Level/IJMB/HND/OND qualifications in a related discipline. For example, second class lower in a relevant science degree or IJMB with required subject combinations. 

For specific courses (especially health sciences/medicine): There may be additional subject combination requirements at O’Level (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and possibly higher JAMB scores. Eg: For MBBS, cut-off mark is higher. 

##Tuition / School Fees
For the 2025/2026 academic session, FUHSO has released freshers’ fees in a range depending on the programme. For example: Fresh students (medical sciences programmes) are cited at around ?400,000 to ?550,000 for the full session. 

A breakdown from one source: For fresh students, minimum payment around ?85,000 for “conditional charges”, plus for medical students ~?194,550 + other charges; non-medical students ~?111,050 + other charges. Then additional health, accommodation, welfare charges bring the total up. 

For reference, one older estimate stated undergraduate fresh fees (medical) ~ ?140,000-?170,000, non-medical ~ ?120,000-?150,000 plus hostel etc. (The higher figures above reflect newer fees). 

Important: Fees are subject to change, and there may be additional levies (hostel, orientation, departmental, etc.). Some local protests have even been staged over the high cost of fees at FUHSO. 

##Cut-Off Mark
FUHSO’s minimum JAMB cut-off mark for all courses for 2025/2026 is cited as 180. That means you generally need to score at least 180 in JAMB to be eligible for the Post-UTME screening. 

For specific competitive programmes, higher JAMB cut-offs apply. Some examples:
For medicine & surgery (MBBS): 240. 

Pharmacy: 200. 

Biochemistry/Biology etc.: 180.

##Why This Matters & Some Tips
Hitting the minimum cut-off mark (e.g., 180) is necessary, but it doesn’t guarantee admission — you’ll still be competing with other candidates, and departments with high demand will likely require higher scores.

For health science courses (medicine, pharmacy, nursing, etc.), aim well above the minimum to improve your chances.

Make sure your O’Level subject combinations match what your desired programme requires (especially for sciences).

Factor in that the tuition/fees are substantial and may include many extra charges — plan early.

Stay updated with FUHSO’s official website or admission notices for any changes in cut-off or fees, because announcements often get updated.

Upload your O’Level results and follow the Post-UTME registration procedures promptly — missing steps can cost you your chance.
