##Admission Requirements
To apply for undergraduate programmes at the university, you’ll generally need to satisfy the following:
You must have taken the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) UTME and selected the university as your first choice.
You need at least five (5) credit passes in your WAEC/NECO (or equivalent) in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
For science/health programmes (like Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy) you’ll likely need relevant science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) in your O’Level.
For Direct Entry applicants: You’d need additional qualifications such as A-Level passes, ND/NCE or equivalent in relevant subjects.
Age and other requirements: The university states that your JAMB score must meet the university’s minimum, and you must adhere to their screening procedures.
##Tuition / School Fees
Here are the fee details (approximate / official where available):
For the 2023/2024 session:
Medicine & Surgery: ?1,030,000 (including hostel accommodation)
Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, etc: ?730,000 each
Many other programmes (Computer Science, Industrial Physics/Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering etc) were listed at ?530,000 for that session.
The university also issued a reduction notice in 2022 (when it moved under federal oversight) stating that fees for Medicine & Surgery were reduced from ?3,000,000 to ?1,000,000 in one instance.
Important: Since the university is fairly new/under transition (federal takeover), and fees can change, I strongly recommend you check the university’s official portal for the most up-to-date fee structure.
##Cut-Off Marks
Here’s what we know about the required JAMB/UTME cut-off and admission benchmarks:
The general minimum JAMB cut-off mark for the university for 2025/2026 is 140 and above.
For more competitive programmes (Medicine & Surgery, Pharmacy etc), higher scores are expected: e.g., for 2025/2026: Medicine & Surgery estimated cut-off JAMB score around 170+, Pharmacy from 140 and up.
It’s wise to aim significantly higher than the bare minimum, especially for health science/clinical programmes where competition is stiff.
