Introduction

Katsina State is located in the northwestern part of Nigeria and is one of the 36 states in the country. It was created in 1987 out of the old Kaduna State. The state has a total of 34 local government areas and one Local Council Development Area, with each local government area having its own administrative headquarters. The state has a rich history and is known for its cultural heritage, traditional leadership, and agricultural export including cotton and groundnuts.
